How Optimum helped Wareef win and deliver under pressure

Wareef • Resilient Risk & Security Engineering • MENA

With shifting scope, tight deadlines, and high-stakes government clients, Optimum became the agile partner Wareef turns to — again and again.

Challenge

Fast-moving government clients. Constant scope changes. No room for delays.

Solution

Embedded engineering and delivery support across RFP, development, and live system ops — with flexibility baked in.

Result

Contracts worth 22% of Wareef’s annual revenue, expansion into two new business areas, and a partnership that keeps growing.

Context

Wareef is a leading IT services provider in Saudi Arabia, working with government, semi-government, and private institutions. When delivery timelines are short and requirements shift fast, the team has to move without missing a beat.

For Mohammad Riyash, Service and Operations Delivery Manager, that means finding partners who can respond fast, flex to change, and build long-term value — not just bill hours.

Challenge

In 2021, Wareef faced a complex QA project with a national ministry regulating labor across millions of contracts. The timeline was aggressive, the requirements unclear, and the tech stack kept changing — from Selenium to Robot to Katalon Studio just days before go-live.

“The tone from the client was clear: ‘Can you deliver — or do we find someone else?’”

Wareef needed a delivery partner who could jump in fast and adapt even faster. Most vendors require locked specs and long prep cycles. Optimum delivered something different.

Solution

Optimum Partners skipped the bureaucracy. No endless back-and-forth, no layered approvals. Mohammad described the experience as frictionless — just a high-level brief and they were off.

Proposal drafts were ready in five days. Development teams were spun up almost as fast. And when the client changed tech mid-stream, Optimum didn’t flinch.

“They accommodated the change without pushback. That’s rare.”

From RFP to execution, Optimum took ownership — and freed up Wareef’s team to focus on securing new work. Their engineers also embedded seamlessly with clients, handling roadmap reviews and sitting in on technical deep-dives.

“They weren’t just developers. They were full partners inside the room.”

Outcome

  • Cleared major government QA backlog
  • Pivoted between frameworks mid-project
  • Embedded across operations, governance, and risk
  • Enabled Wareef to win contracts worth $1.3M — 22% of annual revenue
  • Helped expand into two new business areas
  • Currently supporting one of Wareef’s top three largest projects ever

“I used to spend half my time managing delivery. With Optimum, I spend that time building what’s next.”

More than just engineers, Optimum has helped shift how Wareef operates — from reactive to ready.

“I trust Optimum to deliver technically, which gives me more time and energy to make engagements successful on the business side. 30 percent of my focus is now on future growth — because I know delivery is in good hands.”
